About Me
I'm Megan,
A proud wife and mother of three. Raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts, I grew up embracing humility and resilience. Eager for new experiences and independence, I joined the U.S. Navy straight out of high school, embarking on a 13-year journey in logistics, specializing in financial management and high-priority aircraft parts. The path wasn’t always easy, particularly as I navigated motherhood while serving, but the unwavering support from my mother helped me push through.
During my time in the Navy, I met my husband, who began as a friend and later became my life partner. Together, we built a family in Maine, welcoming two beautiful daughters. As my first daughter’s educational needs became clear, I decided to prioritize my family, choosing to end my military service in favor of being present for her during critical years.
After my Navy career, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on international business, motivated by a deep passion for travel. I convinced my husband to embark on a new adventure—moving abroad to Germany to offer our children the opportunity to experience different cultures. Although the pandemic delayed our plans, our determination never wavered, and we ultimately made the leap, ready to enrich our children’s lives through global exposure.
Transitioning to civilian life in Germany came with its challenges, from navigating work opportunities to finding childcare. I also felt the pull to create something of my own. Encouraged by the vibrant small business community I discovered on TikTok and supported by my mother, I founded Mazi—a business named in honor of my children and myself.
At Mazi, I craft artisanal, non-toxic candles, wax melts, and trinket dishes with a minimalist, earthy aesthetic. Each piece is handmade with intention, designed to bring warmth and tranquility into your home. The journey of building Mazi has been filled with growth and learning, and I am deeply grateful for the support of my community and customers.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Warm regards,
Megan
